There is a new review of our beloved leader Jim Harms' recently published book Comet Scar. And if you needed any more impetus to pick up a copy of the book, this review might just do the trick.
The reviewer is our MFA program's own Andi Stout, a follower and dedicated student of Jim.
Jim also has another recently published book, entitled What to Borrow, What to Steal.
I know I don't actually exist, but here is a link to the review by Ms. Stout for Connotation Press: An Online Artifact.

Don't exist in the sense that you're an abstract entity, Mr. or Ms. Press, or don't exist in the sense that you're inanimate and virtual? :-)
ReplyDeleteIf a tree falls in the forest... The existence of Connotation Press is based on acknowledgement, as are all literary magazines. Theoretically, if it is not acknowledged it does not exist. It is customary to credit publication. Our publisher and founding editor-in-chief learned that while attending WVU's MFA program and while studying from the brilliant Dennis Allen. Something to thing about.
ReplyDeleteAlso, where it says 'review' in blue is a link to Andi's review. I am a clever kid who knows what's up with the internetz.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, perhaps it's about time to have a blog post just about Connotation Press itself. Phil, can I entrust this to you?
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about CP, perhaps that post would be a job for the new VP/MFA Rep. After all, she (all of the nominees are female, though we won't know until Friday who has won) can promote CP to her fellow MFAs, who are the most likely to submit work there.
ReplyDeleteAlways good to have a little fun with Dennis. We here did see the link, Phil, and I have mostly been kidding here, but it would have been nice to see the publication name in the post. C'est la vie. And really, Dennis, isn't there enough Connotation Press blog posts out there already?
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to have taken any focus here away from the brilliant critique Ms. Stout wrote for Jim's collection. THAT is what's really important here.
Keep on rockin' Tenants of Colson Hall!
Is it really possible for there to be too many posts about Connotation Press?
