Congratulations to our two Professional Writing &
Editing (PWE) capstone students of Fall 2019, who skillfully presented
highlights of their internship experiences at the combined PWE/Creative Writing
capstone event on Tuesday, December 10.
Both interns dedicated 140 hours over the fall term to
contributing writing, social media, and research expertise to different
magazines.
Haleigh McCourt interned
with Change
Seven, an online literary magazine, where she bridged her two writing
concentrations—professional and creative—and worked on web archives, rejection
letters, and author agreements.
Savannah Carr
interned with New South Media,
where she earned herself the office title “Pun Queen” and assumed
responsibility for the organization’s social media and online presence, amongst
other duties—including performing interviews, writing articles, and marketing.
We extend our gratitude to their internship site sponsors,
faculty and staff from the English department, and these interns’ families and
friends who have supported them throughout their capstone work.
